WHY IS SIX DEBATES WEEKLY SO USEFUL?

• It provides teachers with the material for one, or two, lessons (see the "Teaching Guide"). Or, one lesson and a 45 minute homework. The lessons can be anything from 20 minutes to one hour.
  
  1. A debating lesson, first in small groups, then with the whole class.
  
  2. A newspaper writing lesson including Headline, Facts, Cartoon and Opinion/Leader column.
